Iris dream in the Dörscheid panorama garden

The Behrens family has fulfilled their dream of a lush English-style garden in Dörscheid. The approx. 1,000-square-metre house garden impresses with a magnificent view of the Hunsrück, but above all with hundreds of perennials and an iris collection now comprising 170 varieties with over 1,000 individual plants.
Depending on the variety, the iris flowers from mid-February to mid-July. The "orchid of the north" provides an unbelievable rush of flowers in an infinite variety of colours throughout spring and early summer. They are joined by peonies, lilies, delphiniums, phlox, poppies and cranesbills, which are complemented by roses, bulb flowers, dahlias and lilacs, snowballs, summer lilacs and other flowering shrubs.
The Behrens family attaches great importance to a year-round splendour of blossoms, with the peak of flowering to be expected between April and July, depending on the weather, and even in December, 25 different species in the Dörscheid panorama garden still delight the eyes.
