The Koblenz Gate is also called "Burgpforte" and was built around 1200. It secured the castle complex, is considered a representative entrance to the city and was partially destroyed in 1689 during the Palatinate War of Succession. After extensive restoration work, the old Koblenz Gate shines in new splendor.
