If one reflects on the beginnings of Drosselgasse and wonders what made this alley so appealing and famous, one quickly realizes that it primarily fulfilled the most fundamental desires of its visitors for sociability and cheerfulness. Here, one could stop by without being questioned about their status, encountering people from the region, as well as raftsmen journeying down the Rhine and travelers of all kinds. Over a hearty meal and a cool drink, people quickly came together. Someone would bring a guitar or a concertina and start playing. This works just as well, or even better, in today's somewhat hectic times! This concept was originally developed by the two trend restaurateurs Uli Geller and Hajo Meuer, and anyone who has been a guest can confirm this!
