Ruin of Hindenburg bridge
Europastrasse 7, 65385 Rüdesheim am Rhein
Constructed between 1913 and 1915, the Hindenburg Bridge was the second-longest bridge over the Rhine, measuring approximately 1,000 meters in length.
It consisted of nine concrete arches and two steel trusses and was blown up by Wehrmacht soldiers in March 1945. Since 2002, the remains of the Hindenburg Bridge, which was not rebuilt after the war, have formed the easternmost point of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley.
