Weingut Johannes Ohlig
Hauptstraße 68, 65375 Winkel
The Johannes Ohlig winery is located in the historic Zehntenhof, built in 1591 in the Winkel district.
Formerly used by the local population to pay their taxes in kind to the Archbishopric of Mainz, it has now been home to the Ohlig family for over a hundred years.
Due to the high volume of taxes stored here, the Zehntenhof has old vaulted cellars on three levels, which provide the Johannes Ohlig winery with the ideal conditions for growing wine. Starting with a large proportion of wine trade, the main business shifted more and more to direct marketing in the winery. The proportion of private customers is around 75%, with 25% going to the retail trade and gastronomy. Today, the Johannes Ohlig winery cultivates around 20 hectares.
