Customs tower, medieval customs post on the river Lahn.
The tower of the customs house on the bank of the Lahn in Niederlahnstein was erected in 1348, when it was called "Lantfeste" or "Eisbreche". A baroque half-timbered construction was built over the stone first floor of the tower in 1741. For many years the tower served as an electoral customs station. Today, civil weddings are performed in the customs tower.
