ADFC: Drei Täler - zwei mit dem Rad, eins mit der Bahn
In der Lach 1, 56567 Neuwied
We will start at 10 AM from the parking lot at the Niederbieber elementary school and ride along the Rhine cycle path to Linz. There, at 12 PM, we will board the historic railbus of the Kasbachtalbahn, which will take us up the steep route to Kalenborn. After a 20-minute ride through the beautiful Kasbachtal, we will continue on mostly smaller roads and some unpaved paths into the Wiedtal to Wiedmühle. From there, we will mainly proceed on bike paths through the Wiedtal. In Roßbach or Waldbreitbach, we will take a break to enjoy an ice cream or something else and take the opportunity for a bit of cycling chatter. The tour has a total length of about 67 km - 27 km to Linz, 40 km from Kalenborn back to the starting point in Niederbieber. The elevation difference (excluding the train portion) is about 400 m. Due to approximately 10 km of unpaved paths, bikes with robust tires should be used - gravel or mountain bikes are as suitable as regular bikes or pedelecs. There is a fare of 6 euros for the ride on the railcar. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 10, as only a limited number of bicycles can be transported in the railbus; therefore, please register in advance.
