From 1947 to 2015, the Buderus art foundry in Hirzenhain characterised the tradition of iron casting according to the Prussian model. As one of the last of its kind, it created works of art of the highest quality before it was closed in 2015. The display and teaching collection, which represents the history of Prussian iron art casting, became part of the Sayner Hütte Foundation in 2022 and today enriches the permanent exhibition of the Art Casting Gallery. To mark the tenth anniversary of its closure, this cabinet exhibition sheds light on the history, works and significance of the Buderus art foundry.
