Eröffnung "Kunstguss von Buderus"
In der Sayner Hütte 4, 56170 Bendorf-Sayn
The Buderus art foundry in Hirzenhain existed from 1947 to 2015 and was one of the last iron art foundries to cast works of art in iron to a correspondingly high quality in accordance with the Prussian model. The Hirzenhain site was closed by Bosch Thermotechnik GmbH, to which the art foundry ultimately belonged, in 2015 and the foundry building and museum were prepared for sale. This was finally finalised in 2020. We are taking the closure of the Buderus art foundry 10 years ago as an opportunity to commemorate its foundation and history in a cabinet exhibition.
The Sayner Hütte Foundation is closely linked to the history of the Buderus Art Foundry in that it received the former display and teaching collection focussing on Prussian iron art casting from the royal Prussian iron foundries in Gliwice, Berlin and Sayn on permanent loan from Buderus Guss GmbH in May 2022. Many exhibits from the Buderus collection are now on display in the permanent exhibition of the Art Castings Gallery.
