Rheinsteig Glühwein-Wanderung
Winzerweg 1, 56348 Bornich
The wine cooperative Loreley Bornich, in collaboration with Loreley Touristik GmbH, is hosting the 18th mulled wine hike on the Rhine Trail. It starts at the Bornich wine cellar at 2:00 PM. There are sufficient parking spaces available for hikers at and around the wine cellar. Loreley Katharina will welcome the guests in Bornich.
Armin Becker will lead the hikers, and Friedel Becker will ensure that nobody gets "lost" along the way.
The route leads from the wine cellar in Bornich on a new path to the Loreley plateau, then through the Bornich vineyards via the wine educational path on the Rhine Trail to the viewpoint Spitznack. Guests can expect a magnificent view of the Rhine Valley before heading to the mulled wine station at the Rhine Trail rest area in Leiselfeld.
The hikers will be abundantly supplied with homemade winemaker's mulled wine from Bornich wines by the organizing team led by Dietmar Reith. For drivers and children, non-alcoholic punch will be available. Participants are also welcome to bring their own cups or mugs for serving.
Regina and Heinz Baumert from the Rhine Trail rest area kindly support the tour and provide toilets and electricity. The tour will then return, depending on the weather, either via the serpentine path or along the Rhine Trail past the 5-lake square back to the Bornich wine cellar.
With a stop at the mulled wine station at the Rhine Trail rest area, the guided hike lasts about 3 hours.
As always, Thomas Bonn and his team will take care of the rustic winemaker's roast in the wine hall, while Andi Becker is responsible for the delicious grilled sausages.
At the large wine counter, Burkhard Becker and his team will offer the extensive wine selection of the Loreley winemakers, as well as the mulled wine made according to old family recipes from Bornich wines.
It is certain that the tour takes place in any weather. Sturdy footwear and good mood will certainly be very helpful for success. Participation is free. No special registration is required.
