Sights along the Rheinsteig

The cultural landscape of the Middle Rhine Valley and Rheingau has developed over thousands of years and is more diverse than anywhere else. Even the Romans left their cultural traces. Omnipresent in viticulture, but also, for example, in the RömerWelt adventure museum in Rheinbrohl at the beginning of the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes or through the Limes watchtowers. The Middle Ages, with their numerous castles and palaces, left their mark on the landscape. The Upper Middle Rhine Valley in particular, which has been an officially recognized UNESCO World Heritage site since 2002, impresses with its more than 40 castles, palaces and ruins.
